Cyber physical (IoT) systems are driving the products and processes and it is now well acknowledged that Condition Monitoring is its central pillar.  Artificial intelligence impacted every domain of engineering today and Condition monitoring is no exception.  AI along with data analytics helps in extracting meaningful information from data and helps in better decision making. La in addition, latest developments of Machine learning, Deep learning, Digital twins, Virtual reality, Augmented reality, Cloud based solutions, Smart sensors, Wireless transmission are influencing the trends in condition monitoring.  Apart from this, standards and regulations are evolving in condition monitoring practices improving reliability of assets,

It is high time that we realise importance of adopting the best practices for the benefit of Nations’ assets. I am glad to see implementation of advanced methods of condition monitoring by various organisations and establishments. This clearly suggests that this maintenance strategy is being accepted by relevant stake holders. As a professional society, we need to further push the boundaries and ensure that the benefits of condition monitoring are accrued to all critical assets of our country. I urge all our members to strive hard in this direction and fulfil the objectives of our society.  Let us all contribute to the dream of India becoming a developed Nation by 2047!
